The World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE) is a sports entertainment company based in the United States of America. Vince McMahon Jr. is the majority owner, chairman and chief executive officer (CEO) of the company.

Vince McMahon Sr. and Toots Mondt, who founded the Capitol Wrestling Corporation in 1952, joined the National Wrestling Alliance in 1953 but left the NWA in 1963 to form World Wide Wrestling Federation in order to recognize its own world heavyweight championship. WWF joined the NWA in 1973; however, Vince Jr., who had established the Titan Sports few years earlier, purchased the company from his father in 1982. WWF left the NWA in the following year and started the national expansion.

Today, the company's global headquarters are located in Stamford, Connecticut with offices in Los Angeles, New York City, London, Toronto, and Sydney[1]. It is currently the largest professional wrestling promotion in the world and holds an extensive library of videos representing a significant portion of the visual history of professional wrestling in the United States and Canada.
